Between 2010 and 2012, 37% of companies with at least ten employees in industry, wholesale trade, transport, information and communication, scientific and technical or financial activities, engaged in technological innovations. Of these, 71% were involved in research and development (R&D) activities. In addition, 14% developed a partnership with a public research institute. These enterprises invested heavily in R&D: they contributed to 70% of R&D internal expenditure by technologically innovative companies in 2012.
